D1 YAPPER
This is a passage from my physics book. I don't read my textbooks but I thought physics would be interesting.
WEIGHT
What is the definition of weight?
The weight of something is how much force is needed to hold it up. If you hold a bucket of water above your head, and somehow could measure the force you are exerting, that is the weight of the bucket. When you step on a scale, the scale measures the force needed to hold you up. In geek talk, weight is measured in newtons, but we use pounds in America (why??). 😀
The bigger you are, the more force is needed by the scale to hold you up. Although this could be a sensitive topic. Let's move on.
There is a derivation for the weight formula, but I'm going to skip it cause no one tryna see that. The formula is Weight=Fg(mg), which makes perfect sense because the amount of force the scale is exerting should be equal to force of gravity. 😁
Weighing
Obviously to weigh something is to measure its weight. You can use a equal-arm balance to find the mass then use the formula to find the weight. But that is like prehistoric so just use a scale fr. To get an accurate measuring don't be in an elevator😹and don't be freefalling 😹.
Also the mass of something isn't the same as the weight. Mass is the same anywhere you go, but weight will differ like if you're on the moon, cause basically the gravity is weaker there.
i like how you simplified a lengthy topic
ReplyDeleteI really liked your humor and your use of slang!
ReplyDeleteI really liked your inclusion of humor while also still getting the textbook's main point across.
