The Myth of the G

This story starts where Wilson comes to find Gatsby in his pool.

There was a faint shot that was audible from the home. I hurried down to the pool. Walking down the steps, I could see a taint of red color in the large pool.

A small gust of wind clashed with the water, forming small ripples that died out at the pool wall. Leaves fell noisily into the crime scene, rustling as they hit the ground. As I neared the pool, it became clear exactly what had happened. Wilson's body lay limp on the edge of the pool, with a single gunshot wound in his back. Gatsby was nowhere to be seen.

It was only after a few hours that anybody had seen Gatsby. One of his servants reported seeing him driving a luxurious yacht towards Tom's home across the bay. I hurried to the shoreline hastily, tripping several times along the way. In the distance, Gatsby's white boat moved steadily across the water. The vessel began to approach the green light, encroaching without hesitation. As I watched the white and green slowly merge into an amorphous blob, it became clear that nothing in the world could stop Gatsby.

A figure walked towards the Buchanan estate, for it was Gatsby's normal self no longer. Pistol in hand, the man had turned into an avatar. As he got closer and closer to the home, the rage and hate boiled hotter and hotter until it was nearly visible on his physical self. Finally, he reached the massive wooden doors, and it was over. With the strongest kick that any man has ever delivered in the history of mankind, the door was shattered into a million little splinters, revealing Tom sitting clumsily on a couch. In one swift motion, the man whipped the pistol into aim and fired a bullet with inhuman precision. Before Tom could even react, the projectile had pierced him in the heart, leaving him lying motionless on the couch.

As I quickly parked my car on the Buchanan's, I saw that it was already too late. My eyes landed on the scene and I could not help but stare. In the doorway stood the G, expressionless as he walked into the cool autumn weather.

  1. I really enjoyed your fan fiction of how Gatsby turned into a G and killed George and Tom. I also liked the amount of detail you added to certain sections in your blog because it allowed me to picture the scene in my head.

  2. I liked how you twisted this to show Gatsby killing Tom and Wilson and I liked how you described Gatsby’s anger.

  3. I liked how the story had Gatsby turn into someone who used physical force. In the actual story, he does not act like the kind of person to want to physically harm someone.

  4. I loved how the story took a turn, Gatsby turning into a mythical character and change up maybe what Gatsby's personality is portrayed to be in the novel.
