I want a world

I want a world where men and women are paid equal. I want a world where pollution didn't exist. I want a world where everyone is nice. I want a world where Detroit looks like Iceland scenery. I want a world where unicorns exist, and also one where I can meet Winnie the Pooh. In my world, unicorns poop rainbows and cry gold, and I want everyone to have a unicorn. I want a world where I'm 6'4 and 240 pounds while being 8% body fat, and I also have the strength of a silverback. I want a world where money grows on trees, and a world where I can trade that money for time. I want a world where I control the laws of physics. I would like to eat ice cream and pizzas without gaining a single ounce by changing how thermodynamics work. I would like to situationally turn off gravity so I could float and fly just like birds and planes. I would like to change Einstein's theory of relativity so that I can control time.

I want a world where war didn't exist. I want a world where we didn't have to write blogs and essays each week in AP Lang. In fact, I want a world where students aren't forced to take an English class every year. I want a world where school doesn't take the entire day, and school lunches are actually healthy. I want a world where the educational system cares about students, where healthcare is free and universal, and where the US uses the metric system.

Now that I think about it, the last few are too unrealistic, but one can only dream...

  1. I liked how you incorporated humor and unrealistic goals in your piece. You talked about serious issues in the world and how you wished you could fix them, but you also made sure to talk about personal issues you faced/face in your life. I also agree with the wish for school to not be so long and for the lunches to not be so unhealthy.

  2. I liked how you used the repetition of "I want.." in both paragraphs to list out the dreams, but also to compare the first paragraph, which might seem like an entirely fiction to the second paragraph, a more realistic goal to point at society, and ending it off with how the second paragraph seems more unrealistic.

  3. I liked how you said that you wanted things that were pretty much unrealistic, it made the blog seem almost satirical, showing that people always will want things, even if they are never going to get them.

  4. I liked how you you used the repetition of I want a world to list out the ideals you want in our world, and made the ideals unrealistic to add satire to the piece.
